Here’s a brief account of a child of 13 in Somalia who was raped, then stoned to death–basically as punishment for having been raped. Amnesty International is on the case… to condemn the use of stoning. A careful reading of their press release reveals no clear objection to the cultural practice of killing a 13 year old girl for being raped. No, AI is upset because they did it with stoning. Of course, that’s Amnesty International:  all cultures are equal! Perhaps if the Somalis start executing rape victims more humanely, they can get even more support from AI.
